Everyone loves a beautiful notebook, and as a bonus, this one is also unique. Both front and rear covers are made using original handmade Cyanotype prints. Inside is 128 pages of plain white multipurpose paper all bound together by hand using Coptic stitching with a linen thread on the exposed spine.
Coptic stitching was developed in the second century AD and not only looks decorative but allows the book to lay flat when opened. Personally, I’m a big fan of this as it makes it easy to write, sketch or doodle.
The cyanotypes are all made by hand from mixing of the light-sensitive chemicals, the coating of the paper, selection of the flora through exposure, developing and finishing in our studio. Similarly, they are then turned into a book with the cutting, folding, glueing and sewing done by hand. As a result, each book is unique.
As original cyanotypes are placed on both covers the book can be used as either a right or left-handed book and still have a beautiful image on the front. Perfect as a gift for someone special (including yourself).
